Treating acne scarring after the acne is gone.

Acne scars come in types — rolling, ice-pick, boxcar, and discoloration — and each responds best to a different treatment. The right approach combines depth (to rebuild) and surface work (to even tone).

How we approach it

Acne Scars: what works.

SkinPen microneedling is the most-effective non-laser treatment for acne scarring — a series of 4–6 sessions delivers significant improvement in rolling and boxcar scars.

Opus Plasma resurfacing delivers more dramatic single-session results for deeper scarring, with 5–7 days of social downtime.

Chemical peels and IPL address the post-acne discoloration (PIH and PIE) that often persists long after the scarring itself.

For active acne (still breaking out), we treat that first with a different protocol — scar work begins once breakouts are under control.

When to consider treatment

If you stopped breaking out years ago but the texture and discoloration remain. If makeup catches in the indentations. If you’ve tried over-the-counter for years with no real change.
