What it actually is
CoolSculpting — in plain language.
CoolSculpting is FDA-cleared cryolipolysis — a clinical fact: fat cells freeze and die at a higher temperature than skin and surrounding tissue. The device applies precise sub-zero cooling to the area for 35 minutes, freezing the fat without damaging the skin above it.
Your body then naturally clears the dead fat cells through the lymphatic system over 2–12 weeks. The cells are gone permanently — fat cells don’t regenerate.
Amy spent 12 years as a CoolSculpting trainer for Allergan, teaching other medspas how to do it right. She has personally performed thousands of treatments. If you’ve gotten CoolSculpting elsewhere and it didn’t work, the placement was likely off.
CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss treatment. It’s a body-contouring treatment for stubborn pockets of fat. We will tell you if you’re a better candidate for weight loss first (our Skinny Shot program) before any contouring.

How much fat does CoolSculpting remove?
Each treated area shows a 20–25% reduction in fat in that specific zone. For comparison: imagine pinching a fold of stubborn fat, then imagine that fold being 25% smaller. Multiple sessions stack the result.
When will I see results?
First visible change at 6 weeks. Full result at 3 months. Some patients see continued refinement out to 6 months.
Is it painful?
The first 5 minutes of each cycle is intense cold pressure — most patients describe it as uncomfortable but tolerable. After that, the area numbs and you can read or work. Some soreness for 1–2 weeks after.
Are the results permanent?
Yes — the treated fat cells are gone. But the remaining fat cells can still expand if you gain weight, which can affect the result. Maintaining your weight maintains the result.
How is this different from liposuction?
CoolSculpting: non-invasive, no anesthesia, no scars, no downtime, 25% reduction per area. Liposuction: surgical, anesthesia, scars, 1–2 weeks downtime, dramatically more fat removed. Different tools for different goals.
How many sessions will I need?
For most areas: 2 sessions spaced 6–8 weeks apart for optimal result. The double chin sometimes responds to a single session. We give you a written plan at consult.
