We use Emface (BTL Industries, FDA-cleared HIFES + synchronized RF). We chose this specific device/protocol because of clinical evidence, predictability, and our clinical team’s deep experience with it. Every plan is reviewed by our Medical Director, Dr. Benjamin Lam, DO — board-certified plastic surgeon and clinical associate professor at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
What it actually is
Emface — in plain language.
Emface uses HIFES (high-intensity focused electrical stimulation) to contract the facial muscles — specifically the muscles that lift the cheeks and define the jawline. At the same time, radiofrequency heats the dermis to stimulate new collagen.
Unlike Botox (which relaxes muscles), Emface strengthens the lifting muscles of the face. The mechanism is the opposite of injectables — and the two complement each other beautifully.
Each session is 20 minutes. No needles, no numbing, no downtime. You walk in, sit for 20 minutes with patches on your forehead and cheeks, walk out, and go back to your day.
A typical series is 4 sessions spaced 1 week apart. Result is visible after the 2nd session and peaks at 3 months. Maintenance is one session every 3–4 months.

Does it work as well as Botox or filler?
Different mechanism, different result. Botox relaxes muscles; filler restores volume; Emface strengthens muscles. For patients who don’t want injectables, Emface delivers visible lift over a series. For patients who do injectables, Emface extends the results between sessions.
How many sessions will I need?
Standard: 4 sessions spaced 1 week apart. Maintenance: 1 session every 3–4 months.
Will it hurt?
You’ll feel muscle contractions and warmth. Most patients describe it as strange but not painful. We build intensity over the session.
Can I combine it with Botox?
Yes — strategically. Botox in the forehead/glabella for line softening + Emface in the cheeks/jaw for lift = complementary results. We typically schedule them 1–2 weeks apart.
When will I see results?
Visible lift starts at session 2. Peak result at 3 months as collagen continues to remodel.
